The Central Cascades Adaptive Management Area is a 158,000 acre area on BLM and
Forest Service lands that includes portions of the South Santiam,
Calapooia, and McKenzie watershed in the Cascade mountains.
The
Central Cascades focuses on bringing together researchers, communities, and
resource managers to answer social and biophysical questions at the
ecosystem and landscape level. This area has a long history of
cooperative efforts between researchers and land managers at the H.J.
Andrews Experimental Forest and is managed by the Willamette National
Forest and the Eugene District Bureau of Land Management. Associated communities include Sweet Home, Vida, Leaburg, Nimrod,
Blue River, McKenzie Bridge, Eugene, Walterville, and Springfield, Oregon.
