LOGO - GO TO CISPUS HOME Collaborative Public Involvement

Do you struggle to effectively connect with people across a wide spectrum of stakeholders?  Is your agency endorsing collaboration as a public involvement strategy, but finding it difficult to implement?  This track explores the opportunities and challenges inherent in collaborative processes.  You’ll be exposed to a variety of public involvement techniques and will practice choosing the right public involvement tools for your situation.  Expand your skills in framing and analyzing issues to determine goals, key players, and strategies for involvement.  Prework:  Bring an issue from your current work setting for a hands-on and project-oriented approach to learning.

This session takes a roll up your sleeves approach to provide participants with a greater understanding of what collaborative public involvement is, and isn’t.  Participants are engaged throughout the session with individual assignments, small and large group discussion, simulations, videos, and role playing.  Short facilitator presentations provide exposure to a large variety of tools and techniques that will assist you in developing a collaborative process that will work for your situation.  You will gain the most from this track if you bring an issue or project that needs a collaborative process developed so you can apply the content of the session to your needs.
