Each
year the workshop presents a special program that explores non-traditional ways
to communicate about landscapes and people. In the March 2006 session we will
have Kim Stafford. Kim Stafford leads his audience on an exploration of the landscape and it's people
through a mix of writings, storytelling, a bit of cowboy poetry, humor, and song. It is
one of the highlights of the Cispus Workshop. This entertaining and thought-provoking
session is not to be missed!A noted teacher and author of poetry, fiction, and essays, Stafford also serves as Director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis and Clark College, in Portland, Oregon. In 1997, Stafford received a Citation for Excellence from the Western States Book Award and the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award for "Having Everything Right: Essays of Place."
