Paul works with communities, organizations, and other agencies in southwest Oregon to develop projects and leverage resources to meet mutually beneficial goals for his agency and partners.  He manages a grants and agreements portfolio of Rural Community Assistance, National Fire Plan, and Title II projects, the forest’s volunteer program, and is continually seeking new partners willing to participate in the management of their public lands.  He has worked with numerous collaborative groups seeking to discover common ground and creative solutions to the complex environmental, economic, and social issues that must be addressed by today’s public land managers.  He is also involved in more traditional public affairs work, and when fire season rolls around, is an Incident Information Officer.

Usually found carrying a fishing rod as he travels around southern Oregon, Paul concedes that sometimes the call of the river is stronger than the call of the cell phone.
