Rick enjoys everything outdoors!  Although he’s no longer allowed to participate in the risk-taking adventures he did years ago, he still finds plenty of adventures to enjoy with his wife and son.  Rick works for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife as the Deputy Administrator, Information and Education Division.  He’s been with the agency since October, 2006.  He is responsible for developing, shaping, communicating, and facilitating and directing a statewide public relations program for Oregon's fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing and conservation programs. In addition to serving as department’s primary media spokesperson, he directs the marketing, advertising, promotion, printing, design, development, and related communications services provided to all sections of the Fish and Wildlife Department.

Prior to this, Rick served in the United States Air Force as a public affairs officer.  He retired from the Air Force in September 2005 after 24 years of service.

As a Cispus staff member, Rick has taught Applied Learning Styles, Effective Briefings, and Facilitative Skills and Techniques.

What does Rick love about Cispus?

"I really enjoy being part of a professional natural resource team that works together to try to offer valuable skills to other natural resource professionals."

Where can you find him?

"I’m usually on a river trying to coax a steelhead to hit my presentation.  I really enjoy time with my family and friends."
