Norm has spent his entire adult life in natural resource communications. Following a 31-year career with the US Forest Service in Public Affairs, he "retired" to a new career as the Northeast Regional Outreach Specialist for ODFW in La Grande, and later with the Lebanon School District. Newly retired from public service, Norm has an active consulting practice, specializing in facilitating "really tough" decision-making meetings, providing training for meeting facilitators, and training for collaborative teams.

"I still believe in the American concept of public lands and in their management for public benefit by a dedicated corps of professionals," he says. "What I do in my job, and especially at Cispus, is to help those professional managers communicate effectively with their publics."

Norm has been on the Cispus staff for about 20 years, and is certified as a Master Facilitator by the Cascade Outreach Institute.
