Biographical Information about Craig Palmer
Craig Palmer is a Research Professor with the Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Craig is currently serving as special assistant to the regional monitoring team for the Northwest Forest Plan. After receiving his Ph.D. in Soil Chemistry from the University of Missouri (1979), he was asked to help establish a soil monitoring program to evaluate the effects of acid deposition in Canada.
Over the years, he has had the opportunity of assisting with the development of a number of ecological monitoring programs in Canada, the United States, and several other countries. The emphasis of his work has evolved to include other aspects of ecological monitoring including program development, quality assurance, information management and reporting.
His current work also includes assisting the National Park Service with the establishment of an inventory and monitoring program for national parks in the Mojave Desert and developing an information management system for the Resource Management Division of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
